Happy Monday, Light Brigade!

And a big welcome to all of our new members.

I hope you all had a great weekend. Very rainy here in Brisvegas. My knees were giving me trouble at kung fu on Saturday, so I only stayed for a couple of hours, instead of my usual 4.5 hours… and felt a little slack as a result.

When we came home Chrissy and I watched Carnal Knowledge, the 1971 Mike Nichols film starring Jack Nicholson, Candice Bergen, Ann-Margret, and Art Garfunkel, which was really interesting. It looks at two misogynistic men who can’t make their relationships work. Terrific performances from everybody.

We also watched episodes of Big Mistakes, Dan Levy’s new series, which is really terrific, and an episode of Matty Matheson’s cooking show, Just a Dash, which is absolutely hysterical.

Last night we watched the Eurovision Grand Final. Being American, Chrissy didn’t grow up with Eurovision, so the bonkers nature of it is new to her. We both enjoyed the winning song, Bangaranga from Bulgaria’s entrant, Dara.

While I was working over the weekend, I’ve was listening to Shostakovich’s Symphony 8, which has been on repeat a lot this week.

Spotify told me this week that the first song I ever played on their platform, back in 2012, was Caroline Says I by Lou Reed. It’s on his Berlin album, one of my favourites. But my most-listened-to artist over the last 14 years is apparently David Bowie, which isn’t really surprising.

My bedtime reading at the moment is Colossus by DF Jones, a 1966 science fiction novel about super-computers taking control of mankind.

Anyway, enough rambling from me. Here’s what we’ve published recently. I hope wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, you’re living your best life.

All the best,
Cameron

In Germany, large companies BY LAW need to have a supervisory board made up of 50% employees who get to vote on the membership of the ACTUAL Board that runs the company. It was set up by the Allies after WWII to stop the return of fascism. Why don’t we have something similar in the United States and Australia? investing management fascism corruption trump management
