We got this email today from one of our QAV Club members.

Dear Cam & Tony,
Just a short note to wish you a Merry Christmas and to thank you for the podcast this year.
And a little testimonial (feel free to use it anonymously):
Now that we’re on top of our mortgage, finished the renovations, our two young boys on their way in private schooling etc. 2020 was the year that we decided to move some capital into the stock market.
After cramming QAV episodes in early Jan I started investing approx. $10k a month consistently throughout this year.
Following QAV about 85% of the time (Stock Doctor 5%, instinct/dumb luck 10%) our portfolio is up 44% so far this year. And there’s been no cheating with large, risky positions in Afterpay styled companies. Just the QAV method consistently applied across approx. 20 stocks in even weighting.
Obviously we’re delighted with the return, but on reflection, the best part has been the confidence that Tony’s system brings. Even if I were never to listen to another QAV episode, outperformance seems pretty much assured with discipline and consistency and time.
But why do the hard work when the Oracle of Darlinghurst continues to lay it out on a plate for us!
Case in point, in a recent episode Tony became all excited about an upturn in nickel, copper and aluminium prices. Only a month or two ago I recall. What he said made sense, so out I go and buy NIC (up 31%), SFR (up 28%), C6C (up 45%) all in the space of a couple of months.
Thanks for the wisdom, the humour and most of all your generosity. In a real team effort, you’re making a big difference to the financial literacy and future of a whole lot of people.
Along these lines as of a few months ago my 8 year old’s pocket money now comes in the form of small, incremental purchases of an etf through Superhero (no fees or brokerage, he’s already up 6%). When I think of the compound interest ahead of him, I can only marvel. But the best bit is that he likes maths, and he can begin to see it too.
Have a very merry Christmas guys and I look forward to journeying with you in the New Year and years to come.
Kind regards,
PW
