Happy Stockmarket. Here are our Australian and American buy lists for this week based on our value investing system. As always, please check our work, DYOR, consult a financial advisor before making any investing decisions.
Here’s some news about the Australian list. If you look inside the hidden tabs, you will find two new sheets.
1. qav_audit_scan
I’ve finally managed to code the audit checking process. I ran a report over the weekend. Column E reports the audit status as of the most recent financial report. There are four types of status, two are bad, two are good:
Bad:
- Emphasis (Going Concern)
- Qualified
Good:
- Review (Unmodified) — meaning the auditor just did a ‘review’ of the books, not a full audit
- Unmodified
I’ve also kept the old “Manual Data” sheet which maintains a “Yes/No” status in Column D, because my other coding looks at that column and I can’t be bothered re-writing it yet.
2. buybacks
I’ve also coded up a buy-back checking script. This sheet reports which stocks have announced buy-backs and the date of most recent buy-back announcement. TK has suggested we might incorporate this into the scoring process, but for now it’s just a standalone new data point.
