QAV Value Investing Buy List (AU) 2025-09-08

Hap­py Stock­mar­ket. Here are our Aus­tralian and Amer­i­can buy lists for this week based on our val­ue invest­ing sys­tem. As always, please check our work, DYOR, con­sult a finan­cial advi­sor before mak­ing any invest­ing deci­sions. 

Here’s some news about the Aus­tralian list. If you look inside the hid­den tabs, you will find two new sheets.

1. qav_audit_scan

I’ve final­ly man­aged to code the audit check­ing process. I ran a report over the week­end. Col­umn E reports the audit sta­tus as of the most recent finan­cial report. There are four types of sta­tus, two are bad, two are good:

Bad:

- Empha­sis (Going Con­cern)

- Qual­i­fied

Good:

- Review (Unmod­i­fied) — mean­ing the audi­tor just did a ‘review’ of the books, not a full audit

- Unmod­i­fied

I’ve also kept the old “Man­u­al Data” sheet which main­tains a “Yes/No” sta­tus in Col­umn D, because my oth­er cod­ing looks at that col­umn and I can’t be both­ered re-writ­ing it yet.

2. buy­backs

I’ve also cod­ed up a buy-back check­ing script. This sheet reports which stocks have announced buy-backs and the date of most recent buy-back announce­ment. TK has sug­gest­ed we might incor­po­rate this into the scor­ing process, but for now it’s just a stand­alone new data point.
