I report­ed News­corp as a buy recent­ly, how­ev­er, due to some good work on the QAV Face­book group, I dis­cov­ered that there was an error in the SD fil­ter down­load file which had a strange num­ber in the num­ber of shares out­stand­ing col­umn.

This was rec­ti­fied on sub­se­quent down­loads and NWS is no longer a buy, how­ev­er, I can’t explain the error as it came from SD.

I think I’ll have to do 1 of two things:

either,

use the SD fil­ter met­ric, price to oper­at­ing cash­flow, which varies from our cal­cu­lat­ed num­ber occa­sion­al­ly because SD uses the dilut­ed weight­ed num­ber of ordi­nary shares, where­as I have been using Ful­ly Paid ordi­nary shares.

or

Put a step in our check­list to check the dif­fer­ence between the SD price:operating cash­flow met­ric and the one that we cal­cu­late in the check­list.
