Hi QAVVERS,

I don’t have much to report this week. I’ve had to sell a few stocks from our Light port­fo­lios this week, more than usu­al, so that’s per­haps an ear­ly indi­ca­tor of the way the mar­ket is head­ing… or it could be noth­ing. Time will tell. Let’s just keep fol­low­ing the rules.

AUSTRALIAN MARKET UPDATE

The All Ordi­nar­ies rose 0.19% over the five trad­ing ses­sions to Thurs­day 15 Octo­ber 2026, clos­ing at 8,840.40.

U.S. MARKET UPDATE

The S&P 500 fell 1.06% over the five trad­ing ses­sions to Wednes­day 14 Octo­ber 2026, clos­ing at 7,718.94.

To pre­pare for my Renais­sance pod­cast this week, I’ve been read­ing about the great Ger­man artist, Albrecht Dür­er, best known for the engrav­ings he did as illus­tra­tions for print­ed books. He also paint­ed on can­vas and worked in oth­er mate­ri­als, hav­ing trained orig­i­nal­ly under his father, a gold­smith.
